“If USA Re-Elects That Black Man, Ima Start A Riot, Ima Start A Riot!”

Tom Head, Texas Judge: Obama Reelection Could Lead To ‘Civil War,’ I’m Ready To ‘Take Up Arms’

Tom Head, a county judge in Lubbock, Texas, plunged far out into the periphery of anti-President Barack Obama conspiracy theories on Monday, pushing a particularly outrageous one as justification for a tax increase in the county.

Head told FOX34 that Lubbock’s law enforcement needed extra tax dollars in order to be prepared for a full-scale uprising, which he said could be a byproduct of Obama’s reelection. According to Head, the president is seeking to sign a variety of United Nations treaties that will effectively take precedent over domestic law.

“He’s going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the U.N., and what is going to happen when that happens?” Head asked. “I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.”

Head continued, delving deeper into his hypothesis and claiming that he was prepared to join the hypothetical resistance.

“Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops. I don’t want ‘em in Lubbock County. OK. So I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say, ‘You’re not coming in here,’” the judge said. “And the sheriff, I’ve already asked him, I said, ‘You gonna back me?’ He said, ‘Yeah, I’ll back you.’ Well, I don’t want a bunch of rookies back there. I want trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me.”

So, there you have it. Head would have listeners believe that they must agree to increase Lubbock’s property tax rate by 1.7 cents in the next fiscal year, or risk being forced to submit to a foreign occupying force invited into the nation by the president of the United States.

Of course, this theory is entirely bunk.

Anything signed by the president as part of a U.N. Convention “can only be implemented through domestic legislation enacted by Congress or state legislatures, in a manner and time-frame determined by our own legislative process.” Effectively, broader U.N. provisions can’t supersede laws passed by Congress, and only serve as guiding principles for signatories to consider.

While it might seem outrageous that such a bizarre conspiracy theory is being promoted by an elected official — as grounds to support a particular policy no less — Head isn’t the only one.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney appeared to give some credence to the same theory in response to a question at a town hall in Ohio last month.

“Turning to the United Nations to tell us how to raise our kids, or whether we can have the Second Amendment rights that our Constitution gave us, I mean, that is the wrong way to go, right? Do not cede sovereignty,” Romney said. “I’m happy to talk there. I’m not willing to give American sovereignty in any way, shape or form to the United Nations or any other body. We are a free nation. We fought for freedom and independence. We are going to keep freedom and independence.”

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all of the Fathers, Step dads, father figures, and any other man who deserves a hallmark card today. Earlier, I was looking on twitter (just BS’n for 20 minutes) when I noticed a slew of “I’m tired of all this father’s day hate” type tweets (alliteration fo dat a**…sorta) on my TL. I personally didn’t see any hate tweets, but I did see the responses; which implied that there were, in fact, people out there slandering baby daddies, and no-show fathers. That kinda sucks. There’s only one day to celebrate the Fathers- why must folks hate on them on this day….aren’t there like 364 (365 every 4 years) days to throw mud on a dead-beat dad……? I digress. This post is purely a s/o to the dads out there handling their business as best as they can. Here are a few songs that came to mind that I jam on the regular:

1. Glory- Jay Z f. BiC. this has to be the biggest subliminal record of 2012. Actually, if you want the full effect, then you must listen to “Beach Chair” which would make this subliminal record date back to 06. It’s my theory that Jigga J and Bey (or maybe some other woman involved with Jigga?) experienced a miscarriage. That’s tough, on some real sh!t. But once you dig into each song, you’ll soon realize that Word Smith aint talking silliness. Try it.

2. Mockingbird- Eminem. this is pure “Ima give you the world, baby girl” from Em. I like it….but there is a better song out there that I jam more regularly by Em. (id. at 5.)

3. Just the two of us- Will Smith. yeh…Big Willie Style had a few gems. But “Just The Two Of Us” is an actual classic simply because it talks about father son relationships. Salute

4. Isn’t she lovely- Stevie Wonder. We all know this is about the birth of his daughter, Aisha. She’s one of his back up singers. I heard from a reliable source (Thanks, Pop) that at ACL, he was introducing stage personnel (drummers, guitarist, singers)…and when it was time to introduce Aisha, he flipped the beat and started playing this song. s/o to Daddy’s Little Girl getting the special treatment.

5. Hailie’s Song- Eminem. “Yo…I can’t sing, but I feel like singing….I wanna Fn sing. Because I’m happy”…uuuummmmmmm Any dad earns the right to sing about their children. period. #CLASSIC

6. New Day- The Throne. this is….#EPIC. This is probably the most personal song on Watch The Throne where Jay and Ye both talk to their unborn sons. Both offer good advice that stems from the “Don’t make the same mistakes I did growing up” speech. It’s real. Real recognize real….and real gon speak!

7. Our First Born- Ginuwine. that “IM THE DADDY! IM THE FATHER!” line is crucial. It gets me every time. Im thinking, “Go ‘head, young brotha! Handle yo ‘sponsibilites.”

8. Prayer for you- Usher. although the album was a dud, this song actually kept me interested. Plus, I fully support any father talking about his children. I like kids. sue me.

9. Heaven- Jamie Foxx. if you start with pianos, you’d better wreck dat sh!t, B. On the cool, this song hits the spot. Bravo, Eric Marlon Bishop <-Huh? LOL

And my all time favorite Daddy’s day song, *Drum roll*

10. Like Father, Like Son- The Game. “June 30th, 11:07 I got that call. She’s 8 cm, my little man’s about to fall!” The amount of detail and description of that entire scene brings everything to life. I felt like I was right there in the delivery room with Game…in an un-weird, non perverted un-disrespectful way. But really, this is a great song. And having Busta Rhymes on the hook was damn near genius! The quirky ad-libs alone set the song into the hall of fame. Thugs got soft spots too…even the fake ones @TheGame

There you have it, folks. Enjoy the list. Give the songs a listen if you haven’t already. Feel free to give suggestions of your own.

NOTE: The only song worth prioritizing is “Like Father Like Son. 1-9 are in no particular order. And why come there are almost NO songs about how great a father has been. No “Thanks dad for teaching me how to…” rap songs. Shaking My Fn Head. Correct me if I’m wrong…I really hope I’m wrong.

3 Reasons Why Anthony Dates Becky

Every “educated black man” knows that the quickest way to the angry side of a black woman is to date  a white woman. The site of an Educated Black Man (EBM) and a white woman takes African American women 0 to 60 in .062 seconds. White women, also known as “Snow Bunnies”, “The Black Man’s Kryptonite”, etc., ignite a furry equaled by none.

Due to the dislike and disdain felt by many (men and women) and the ignorance of some Educated Black Men, there are popular misconceptions as to why EBM date outside their race. Some argue that it’s because “we hate ourselves”. Others say it’s because white women allow us to get away with more, and black women are “too strong”.  Or my favorite, “they think dating a white woman is a sign of making it”.

I love Black women. If Stuart Scott were to describe black women in sports terms, he would describe them as having “the intangibles”. It’s truly incredible. With that being said, this article is  meant to help you understand what you hate. I’m here to tell you that all these rumors are wrong, incorrect, ignorant, and hater-ish. My conclusions are based on the masses and not some random individual you may know. The science is really not that deep, but below….I offer you guidance.

3. Black women are usually late to the party. Educated Black Women do not recognize the scarcity of black men until post-college/graduate school/once they’ve obtained all the things they’ve ever wanted on paper. Right around their mid-twenties, black women stop and realize that EBM are an endangered species. Literally, I personally feel like their thought process goes like this, “It’s about that time now. I’ve got degrees, money, a profession, but now I need a relationship. My eggs are drying out. My mom keeps asking me questions. All my high school friends are getting married.”

By this point, we’re already in our mid-twenties and in our fifth inter-racial relationship that year. Your counterparts are  6-7 years ahead of you because they recognized the elementary laws of supply and demand. While you were listening to your favorite songs (“Independent Women” and “Survivor”)….. While you were hibernating….they were hunting.

2.  Curiosity. There exists an incredible amount of curiosity regarding EBM. These guys are nothing like the clowns on BET. Their pants hang at their waists! Their clothes fit! They speak ENGLISH!! It’s incredible.

While preparing to write this article, I questioned a female friend of mine. I went to the primary source!! I always figured that the “white girl curiosity” was mostly a sexual one. We’ve all heard the “Mandingo” rumor. I figured the curiosity was fueled by her general belief that black guys are “bigger” (by the way, this isn’t a myth, it’s been proven). Come to find out, there exists a curiosity beyond our proven larger size.

This informal interview was my first glimpse at the mind of a white woman. To paraphrase my friend, she explained that for over 70 years the scariest thing in America was the idea of a white woman being with a black men. Decades of oppression have resulted in an accepted curiosity amongst white women. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. People always want what they can’t have.  I do not believe that white women grow up wanting to date or marry black men. However, I do believe they grow up wanting to take a dip in the pool.  While you’re worrying about water touching your weave…they’re diving in…head first.

By becoming EBM, we offset the game. Ask yourself, what if white women developed booties? What if Asians became thick? And at the end of those questions, what if black men escaped the generalized idea of thugs and ignorant hoodlums?

1.Look at our Competition. With all do respect to the educated males of other races (not just White people)….Black men are generally socially better. Notice the term “generally”. My analysis is based on the masses and not individuals. It’s the little things that create gaps in class. In both higher education and the work force, black men are in a social class of their own. As Black men, we care about the way we look. We don’t wake up in the morning, throw on some running Adidas sneakers, khakis, and a wrinkled shirt and make our way to school and/or work.  Even if we wear basketball shorts and a T-shirt, I guarantee that our outfit will be coordinated. We actually care about the way we look.

Furthermore, Black men tend to be better at communicating with the opposite sex. I’m not talking about running game. I’m talking about carrying on a conversation and making the girl in cubicle 301 laugh. We don’t wait for the water cooler conversations. We are the water cooler. Every day, 8+ hours a day. Black men have a swagger that American women love. Americans have been on their knees for years. Hip-Hop? The Kings of Comedy? The emergence of countless Black artists and actors.

Closing

The above list is far from exclusive. The list can go on for ages. At the end of the day, it is important to understand that most EBM do not date outside of their race because they hate themselves. They don’t hate their mothers. Becky is not a prize to Anthony.  Black men date outside their race…because we can.

Uncle Tom or Uncle Ruckus

The phrase “Uncle Tom” has also become an epithet for a person who is slavish and excessively subservient to perceived authority figures, particularly a black person who behaves in a subservient manner to white people; or any person perceived to be a participant in the oppression of their own group- Wikipedia

Well, I’m black now. So the first thing I did was quit all my jobs. I dunno how I’m supposed to pay the bills… Probably have to start selling crack. Or rapping. Or rapping about selling crack. – Uncle Ruckus

—————-

I’m black, poverty raised, K-12 was a joke, college day’s swiftly passed, and I am the first to graduate from college in my family. My first car was an 85 Cutlass, I had two gold grills, and a beautiful shot gun in my trunk at all times. I have been shot at, had a gun put to my temple, and broke a few bones in a pointless fight. Coming up I was proud to say I was a “Hood Nigga” simply because that was all I knew. But then it happened; College. Ohhhh but not any College, one of the most prestigious Universities in America! Yeah, I did that. I was dumbfounded by the knowledge that my peoples back home were missing out on but apprehensive to share the knowledge because I was now viewed as the other. A threat….

I have always wondered why black men who break away from the social norms of the black community are characterized as Uncle Toms. In looking at how the phrase is defined, I am still a little confused as to how it was chosen as the marquee insult for progressive black men who value education, and possess ambition, and drive. In my opinion, a lot of my fellow African Americans lack “Smart Goals.”

Now let me state this….Although I am educated, I am by no means the smartest or most cleaver. I wake up and put my boxers on one leg at a time just like anybody else. There is nothing special about me. I have poor grammar and still look for short cuts. However, I have seen both sides of the fence and unfortunately the grass is greener on the other side of a degree.

Before you start judging lets clear the air. I think a degree is a rip off. Find a trade, something your good at, and pour your passion into it. One day it will flourish but it will take time. I just took the short cut. If you can’t beat them join them. There is truth in the saying “It’s a white man’s world”

I love my people. Look at our history, our struggle, and our perseverance. In no way am I the oppressor of my people or am I subservient to white America. It’s like the new age black folks have forgotten the struggle, blood, sweat, and tears that many black people fought for simple rights we take for granted. However, when I try to speak to that point around the homies back home, I am called an Uncle Tom. I just play the game. I play to win.

This brings me to my next point, although I love my people, it’s a love hate relationship. It’s like they want to see me fail when all I want is to see them/us rise. We do some ignorant shit though. Shit that makes you think….well damn….these negros are some coons. Although not as extreme I share some common ground with Uncle Rukus. I am not going to go into detail on who he is. I will leave that to you to google him if you don’t recognize the name.

His character is known for highlighting every stereotype that is known about black people. They are never good ones, all bad. But numbers don’t lie and stereotypes are backed by numbers and calculated percentages. Read up on some of our stereotypes and then check the news. Are you’re a living walking stereotype? How valid is the Medias perception of us? I mean, think about it, in order for it to be caught on camera….it had to happen. They aren’t making this shit up, there aren’t any special effects….that’s real blood, violence, and ignorance spreading like a wild fire across the internet.

In closing, just as much as I hate the luxury of white privilege that white culture embodies, I hate our lack of culture and desire to challenge white privilege. I am not an extremist, racist, or politically inclined individual by any means. Just as a mother and father want to see their child do better than them I want to see my people do better in all arenas of life. Regardless of what anybody says. I’m proud to be black and I still put on for my city. We just need to play the game (PTG) and play to win! Holla at cha boy….

The President Is Gay, And Black Folks Hate It, Yo.

Two weeks ago, President Obama affirmed his support for same-sex marriages. This is the first time a president of these United States has ever held this position, and his affirmation is said to be a polarizing topic amongst voters in the upcoming election. In short, President Obama runs the risk of losing votes (and the presidential election) simply because he feels same-sex marriages should be allowed.

Image

Apparently, potential supporters, moderates, independents, men, women, Latinos, Whites, Asians, and everybody in between…including African Americans (smh) are flipping the script on “Mr.” Obama (folks be forgetting to respect the Big Hommie when they want to complain about him…they be forgetting to put “President” in front of his name like he ain’t squat!). It isn’t entirely clear why folks are up in arms about this issue. What is clear is that Middle America still has trouble accepting the LGBTQ community. It seems as though gays and lesbians aren’t worthy enough to enjoy the benefits that the constitution provides. It looks like folks forgot the real reason why they voted for President Obama, or “Young BARAKA!” as I like to call him. And judging by the public’s reaction, I guess people only voted for him because he initially didn’t support same-sex marriages. I mean heck, they’re actively not voting for him (or claiming that they wont vote for him- you know folks be acting all wishy-washy) because he changed his mind.

“I am going to do all that I can to influence as many people as possible to think for themselves and allow the God of Christianity and the teachings of Christianity to have more influence in their lives than any person who may be holding any political office, even if that office is the presidency of the United States of America. This particular decision I find appalling, and I could not disagree with the president more on it.”

NPR

“A USA Today Poll showed that slightly more than half of Americans agreed with the president’s decision. A scientifically valid breakdown of African-Americans was not available, but past polls have shown blacks generally opposed to gay marriage.”

Huffington Post

Could the President be in trouble? Who knows? Facts show that 95% of Black folks voted for Young BARAKA!. Doing some quick math, if Blacks make roughly 13% of the American population, that means 12.35% of Black folks voted for the President. And of course, this is assuming that all Black folks voted (All of us didn’t vote. Kids can’t vote, and neither can felons- please refer to incarceration facts on black men. And then some folks simply didn’t vote. Smh 2x). Oh Yeh…in case you didn’t realize, Blacks didn’t vote BARAKA! into the white house. #facethefacts

Let me first start by saying that I’m not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to LBGTQ issues, so all of this is somewhat new to me. But I believe I know enough to give a valid opinion…. So before you send hate mail my way, chill out, yo. With that being said, I find it somewhat irritating to read and hear comments against gays and lesbians by the black community and the general community at large, but especially the black community. If I’m not mistaken, there was a time (like….50 years ago) when African Americans didn’t have rights. There was a time when the American community did not accept African Americans. There was even a time when interracial marriages were disallowed (Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967)). So why are Black Folk trippin when others are trying to get a piece of the American Pie? We all can’t be George and Weezie? Where’s the compassion, people? Where is the symbolic hand on the chest “I feel you, mayne” gesture? Where’s the love? #JiggaShrug. I am in no way asserting that struggles the LGBTQ community face are the same as African Americans, but one can’t deny the similarities among the two. I could go back and forth about the similarities vs. dissimilarities, but I don’t have time for all of that. For me, it boils down to the Constitution and what it promises. If the Constitution of The United States claims that all men are created equal, then The United States damn sure better start treating folks equally. I mean-that was the premise of the Civil Rights Movement (refer to Brother King’s “I have a dream“ speech”). Therefore, “Don’t write checks that your ass can’t cash.” It’s time to keep your word, America. Allowing African Americans to vote, and gays to marry is the right step in upholding the integrity of this nation’s Constitution.

I’m fully aware of the religious implications this may have, and I can’t argue against it. Frankly speaking, I don’t agree with same-sex anything when it comes to religion. But I, like many Americans, know how to separate church from state. Again, if you say, “equal rights” then give equal rights without imbedding deeply rooted religious beliefs into it. AT LEAST don’t have a federal law prohibiting same-sex marriages (Defense of Marriage Act-1996; “DOMA”). The states are more than capable of making this decision without the government forcing us to accept this definition. By repealing/amending DOMA, same-sex couples can enjoy basic privileges that all Americans who are in serious committed, and legal marriages can enjoy; insurance benefits, social security survivor benefits, and federal income tax benefits. None of these benefits impeded on anyone’s religious beliefs…. at all.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of folks who understand and/or support the President, myself included. Many articles, like the ones I’ve referenced in this post, infer that portions of the Black community are riding with President Obama on this. Pastors and the NAACP are still jamming Young Jeezy on the regular. Yet, I continue to hear how Pastors and community leaders are urging blacks not to vote because of BARAKA!’s beliefs. Really, yo? For real, fam? That’s how we gon do this, b? Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, but anyone who encourages African Americans not to vote should be flogged with hot coal stones. That’s just FN ridiculous! Do not- I repeat- DO NOT walk these streets trying to push US back into the archaic days of old, when we didn’t even have a choice to vote. That’s worse than little Black kids saying they don’t want to go to school…or is it? #ForshadowingMyNextPost

In closing, lower your voices, (Black) America. This isn’t so bad. I guarantee that you’ll be able to practice your religion tomorrow, the next day, and the next day after that. I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to enjoy Constitutional rights just like you have been in the past. But we live in a progressive society where things are ever changing. And the best part about it is that we are capable of finding a common ground to make it all work. It’s going to be a process, but it won’t kill us. It won’t crumble the noble, American ideals that we love. It’ll only enhance our country’s value as the land of opportunity where folks from all walks of life can have a chance to live their lives to the fullest…So to My African American family, chill out, yo.

“When it comes to rights represented by the [government], I think it’s very important to make sure everybody is treated fairly and equally.” {paraphrased}

President Barak Obama; The View

Preach on Young BARAKA!. “Preeeach”- 2 Chainz

-Mr. Word Smith-

Update on June 2, 2012: The 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston said the 1996 law deprives gay couples of the rights and privileges granted to heterosexual couples. Therefore, a portion of DOMA may be erased from the law books if the Supreme Court affirms this decision. Progress is the best process.
